EDF Configuration & Options
The Pilot-RC Matrix 90mm is available in several EDF configurations, from standard sport flying to advanced 3D and hover capability.
Important: The standard EDF versions do not include the rear fuselage with vector tail nozzle. This component must be purchased separately, or is included in the optional 3D/Hover Package.
1. 6S PNP Version
The standard PNP version is designed for straightforward and powerful EDF sport flying.
It includes:

The 6S PNP version is intended primarily for sport flying, speed and aerobatics.
The rear fuselage with vector tail nozzle is not included and must be purchased separately.
2. 8S PNP Version
The 8S PNP version is designed for pilots looking for additional speed and performance.
However, please note that the standard 8S PNP version is not powerful enough for hovering or full 3D flight.
The 8S PNP version:

For 3D and hover flight, you need to purchase the Motor Ready Version together with the dedicated 3D/Hover Package.
Rear Fuselage & Vector Tail Nozzle
Both the PNP and Motor Ready EDF versions are supplied without the rear fuselage with vector tail nozzle.
The rear fuselage/vector tail nozzle is available separately.
This allows customers to choose whether they want the standard rear fuselage configuration or upgrade their Matrix later with vector thrust capability.
Optional EDF Vector Rear Fuselage
The optional rear fuselage includes the vector tail nozzle and vector servo, allowing the Matrix to be equipped for advanced 3D manoeuvres when combined with the appropriate power system.
3D / Hover Package for Matrix 90mm EDF
For pilots who want to perform 3D and hover manoeuvres, Pilot-RC offers a dedicated 3D/Hover Package.
The package is designed to work with the Motor Ready Version of the Matrix and can be operated with both 6S and 8S LiPo batteries.

3D/Hover Setup
When the Motor Ready Version is combined with the 3D/Hover Package, the Matrix can be configured for 3D and hover flight.
The setup is compatible with both 6S and 8S batteries.
Important ESC Temperature Warning
3D and hover flying places considerably higher demands on the motor and ESC than normal EDF flight.
Before flying, the ESC telemetry warning should be configured to monitor ESC temperature.
During flight, the ESC temperature must be kept below 140°C.
Exceeding this temperature may result in overheating and possible damage to the ESC and/or motor.
The 3D/Hover Package is supplied without warranty for 3D/hover operation. Pilot-RC does not warrant damage resulting from operation outside the recommended temperature limits or from the extreme loads associated with 3D/hover flight.
Turbine Conversion
The Matrix 90mm can also be converted from EDF to turbine power using the dedicated Pilot-RC Turbine Conversion Kit.

The conversion system is designed for an X45-class turbine.
Important Turbine Disclaimer
The Matrix was originally developed as a foam EDF jet. Operating the aircraft with a turbine engine introduces significantly higher temperatures and different loads compared with the standard EDF configuration.
Pilot-RC does not provide a warranty and accepts no responsibility for damage or other consequences resulting from flying the 90mm Matrix with a turbine conversion.
The turbine conversion is therefore intended for experienced turbine pilots who understand the additional risks and requirements of operating a turbine-powered foam aircraft.
Turbine Vector Tail Pipe
The turbine conversion is available with a Normal Tail Pipe or a Vector Tail Pipe configuration.
An important advantage of the Pilot-RC system is that the vector pipe can be installed later.
The turbine vector pipe is supplied with the necessary push rod and is designed to be compatible with the normal turbine tail pipe installation.
This means customers can:

Fly the Matrix as a conventional turbine jet

Upgrade to the Vector Pipe later when they want to explore advanced aerobatics and 3D flight
The Vector Pipe does not require the customer to purchase a completely new turbine conversion system.
