KST HLS6513 HV Servo – 70kgf.cm, 0.11 sec, Brushless & Hall Sensor

The KST HLS6513 HV Standard Servo is a premium high-performance servo designed for demanding large-scale RC aircraft and 700–800 class RC helicopters.

With an impressive 70kgf.cm of torque at 8.4V and a fast 0.11 sec/60° response, the HLS6513 delivers exceptional power, speed and precision for high-load control surfaces.

At the heart of the servo is a high-efficiency 4-pole brushless motor, combined with a hardened steel gear train and six ball bearings. The servo also uses a contactless Hall-effect position sensor, providing precise and consistent position feedback without the mechanical wear associated with conventional potentiometers.

With its combination of extreme torque, fast response and advanced sensor technology, the HLS6513 is an excellent choice for large aerobatic aircraft, giant-scale models, jets, 700–800 class helicopters and other demanding RC applications.

70kgf.cm of Serious Servo Power

The HLS6513 is designed for applications where conventional high-torque servos are simply not enough.

At 8.4V, it delivers an impressive 70kgf.cm of torque, providing a substantial power reserve for large control surfaces and high aerodynamic loads.

Torque output:

  • 55kgf.cm @ 6.0V

  • 65kgf.cm @ 7.4V

  • 70kgf.cm @ 8.4V

This makes the HLS6513 particularly suitable for large:

  • Ailerons

  • Elevators

  • Rudders

  • Flaps

  • Canards

  • High-load control surfaces

Fast 0.11 sec Response

High torque does not come at the expense of speed.

At 8.4V, the HLS6513 reaches 0.11 sec/60°, making it suitable for both precision flying and high-dynamic applications.

Speed performance:

  • 0.16 sec/60° @ 6.0V

  • 0.13 sec/60° @ 7.4V

  • 0.11 sec/60° @ 8.4V

The combination of 70kgf.cm torque and 0.11 sec speed makes this servo particularly attractive for large-scale aerobatic aircraft where strong and fast control response is essential.

Contactless Hall Sensor Technology

One of the key features of the HLS6513 is its contactless position sensor.

Instead of relying on a conventional mechanical potentiometer, the Hall-effect sensor provides position feedback without physical contact at the sensing element.

This offers excellent:

  • Position accuracy

  • Repeatability

  • Long-term reliability

  • Centering consistency

  • Resistance to sensor wear

For large RC aircraft and helicopters, where vibration and continuous servo movement can be significant, this technology provides an important advantage.

4-Pole Brushless Motor

The HLS6513 uses a high-performance 4-pole brushless DC motor.

The brushless motor is designed for high efficiency, fast response and long service life. The 4-pole design provides strong motor performance and smooth servo operation under demanding loads.

This makes the HLS6513 especially suitable for large aerobatic models, jets and high-performance helicopters.

Hardened Steel Gears

The servo uses a robust hardened steel gear train designed for extreme loads.

The hardened steel gears provide excellent mechanical strength and durability while maintaining accurate positioning under heavy aerodynamic loads.

For large-scale aircraft, where control surfaces can generate substantial forces, this level of mechanical strength is particularly important.

Six Ball Bearings

The HLS6513 features an impressive 6-ball-bearing design.

The multiple bearings provide excellent support for the gear train and output shaft, helping to minimize play and maintain smooth, precise operation under high loads.

Combined with the hardened steel gears, the 6BB design makes the HLS6513 particularly well suited to demanding large-scale applications.

Ideal for Large-Scale RC Aircraft

The HLS6513 is not only a helicopter servo. KST specifically lists it for large-scale RC airplanes as well as 700–800 class helicopters.

For aircraft, it is an excellent choice for:

  • Large-scale aerobatic aircraft

  • Giant-scale RC airplanes

  • Large jets

  • Large Extra and Edge models

  • Large Slick and other 3D aircraft

  • High-load rudders

  • Large elevators and ailerons

  • High-load flaps

  • Scale aircraft

Its 40 × 20 × 40mm standard-size housing makes it a practical choice when extremely high torque is required without moving to a much larger servo format.

Ideal for 700–800 Class Helicopters

The HLS6513 is also designed for demanding helicopter applications.

Its high torque, fast response and compact standard-size dimensions make it suitable for:

  • 700 class RC helicopters

  • 800 class RC helicopters

  • 3D helicopters

  • F3C helicopters

  • High-performance helicopter applications

  • Swash plate and other high-load control functions

Always check the helicopter manufacturer's recommended servo specifications before installation.

CNC Aluminum Alloy Housing

The HLS6513 uses a lightweight yet rigid aluminum alloy housing.

The metal housing provides excellent structural rigidity and helps dissipate heat during high-load operation.

The result is a strong and durable servo designed for demanding applications while maintaining a compact 40 × 20 × 40mm footprint.

High-Voltage Performance

The HLS6513 operates from 6.0V to 8.4V.

At the maximum 8.4V operating voltage, it delivers its full 70kgf.cm torque and 0.11 sec/60° speed.

This makes it an excellent match for modern HV receiver and power systems.

For large models using multiple high-torque servos, always use a properly sized receiver power system, BEC and wiring capable of handling the combined current demand.

Programmable Digital Electronics

The HLS6513 features fully programmable digital electronics.

The servo offers programmable travel angles and soft-start functionality, allowing its characteristics to be adapted to different aircraft and helicopter applications.

The default travel angle is ±100° / 200° total, and the travel can be adjusted using compatible KST programming equipment.
